Wear Yellow Day – Fundraising for TOG MIND

November 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Our Pupil Parliament groups are now well established. The children have democratically elected children to represent them into the following teams:

  • ‘We’re Safe and Healthy’ led by Mrs Martin, Mrs McCabe and Mrs Marshall
  • ‘We’re Faithful’ led by Mrs Evans
  • ‘We Achieve’ led by Mr Bennett

Each group has made an action plan detailing what they would like to do to improve our school even further.

Our ‘We’re Safe and Healthy’ team have been given the responsibility of coming up with ideas for fundraising for one of our chosen charities: TOG MIND. This is a charity that provides help and support for better mental health and wellbeing and we have already had a whole school session with a member of staff from TOG MIND to help the children with relaxation techniques. You can find more information about the charity here:

http://www.togmind.org/

The children have come up with the idea of holding a ‘Fancy a Brew?’ morning for parents to come and join us to find out more about the charity and have a brew, a biscuit and a chat. You will also have the opportunity to meet members of staff from TOG MIND.

This will be held on Friday 22nd November from 9.10am in the school hall and you are all welcome to attend. On the day we ask all children to wear something yellow and donate £1 to TOG MIND. Children do not have to wear yellow completely. This could be socks, a t-shirt, a jumper or a lovely pair of yellow trousers! What is important is that the children know that their donations are going to a local charity that provides local people with mental health and wellbeing support. This charity supports our school and we want to give something back.

We really hope you can join us.
