Church News and Upcoming Dates
On 31 May Revd Liz embarked on a 325 Virtual pilgrimage to Lindisfarne. She physically walked over 325 miles from 31 May to 9 August and plotted those miles on a pilgrimage map, virtually visiting churches, monasteries, cathedrals and other holy sites along the way. The physical and virtual journey was shared on Facebook (St Anne's Church, Longsight, Royton) and on weekly newsletters which you can find here

The physical challenge of walking 325 miles was sponsored with money collected being divided evenly between St Anne's Church and Dr Kershaw's Hospice. Revd Liz finished the pilgrimage on 9th August with a walk from
St Chad's Church in Rochdale to Manchester Cathedral (over 14 miles!) and on 31 August on St Aidan's Day (St Aidan was the first Bishop of Lindiafarne) she walked a final pilgrimage walk from St Anne's Church to St Aidan's Church Sudden, Rochdale- another 6.78 miles to give thanks for pilgrimage. In the end number of miles walked was 342.57 miles!

December is a busy month for everyone and of course there is a lot going n in Church during Advent and the lead up to Christmas. You are welcome to St Anne's at anytime but you might like to join us on these occasions.
Saturday 5th December and Sunday 6th December Christmas Tree Festival. See the church decorated with Christmas Trees from individuals, church groups, community groups and businesses in the local area! Festive entertainment and refreshments too!
Wednesday 9 December 6.30pm St Nicholas Service. Hear the story of St Nicholas, meet St Nicholas and bring him a present for the Booth Centre in Manchester (for those experiencing homelessness) and receive chocolate coins in return!
Monday 14 December 7pm Christingle A light filled service for all the family. Make it part of your Christmas countdown!
Sunday 20 December 3pm Christmas Carol Service. Hear the greatest story ever told and sing your favourite Christmas Carols followed by festive refreshments!
Thursday 24 December 4pm Crib Service. Help us tell the story of Christmas as we sing carols and put the Nativity Figures into our Crib. A service for all the family on this special day.
